Challenges in
Corrosion Protection

Modern protective coatings must balance strong adhesion on metal substrates, long-term corrosion resistance under salt spray and water exposure, compatibility with water-based systems, and increasingly strict environmental compliance requirements. Achieving all of these at the same time remains a key challenge for many manufacturers.

Corrosion Solution Portfolio
608 Strontium Phosphate Yellow H
CAS No.: 14414-90-5
Molecular Formula: O8P2Sr3

608 Strontium Phosphate Yellow H forms a stable protective layer on metal surfaces and provides strong adhesion and anti-corrosion performance on aluminum alloy, aluminum-magnesium alloy and galvanized steel. It improves salt spray resistance, flash rust resistance, yellowing resistance and water resistance, while enhancing overall coating protection. Compared with conventional anti-corrosion pigments, it performs well at lower dosage and supports compliance with GB30981-2020 hazardous substance limits.

801 Strontium Chrome Yellow
CAS No.: 7789-06-2
Molecular Formula: SrCrO4

801 Strontium Chrome Yellow (Strontium Chromate, Pigment Yellow 32) is an inorganic high-temperature yellow pigment mainly used in heat-resistant coatings, anti-corrosion primers for non-ferrous metals and traditional protective coating systems. It offers good heat stability and corrosion-inhibiting performance, and can also be used in plastics, rubber, inks and color blending applications.

S-57 / S-58

Environmentally friendly anti-corrosion pigment solutions developed for regulation-conscious formulations and export-oriented applications.

Key Advantages
  • Environmental Compliance

608H can meet the hazardous substance limits of GB30981-2020 at a dosage of ≤2%. S-57 / S-58 comply with EU RoHS 2011/65/EU, (EU) 2015/863 and GB/T 26572-2011, and are free from heavy metals of concern.

  • Corrosion & Salt Spray Resistance

608H shows salt spray resistance of over 400 hours in comparison testing. 801 Strontium Chrome Yellow delivers salt spray resistance of over 2000 hours. S-57 / S-58 can replace selected imported anti-corrosion products and provide salt spray resistance of over 400 hours.

  • System Compatibility

608H is suitable for both water- and solvent-based systems, especially water-based epoxy, acrylic and alkyd. 801 is suitable for water- and solvent-based systems with heat resistance up to 500°C. S-57 / S-58 are suitable for two-component epoxy, two-component polyurethane, water-based acrylic, water-based epoxy and coil/powder coating systems.

  • Low Dosage & Easy Application

The recommended dosage of 608H is 0.5–2. 801 can improve corrosion resistance at an addition level of 2–5 parts. S-57 / S-58 are typically used at around 5%, with easy dispersion and no major formulation adjustment required.

Performance Validation
Water-Based Alkyd System Water-Based Epoxy System Water Resistance & Yellowing Test
Water-Based Alkyd System

At equal dosage and film thickness, 608H shows comparable or better corrosion resistance than conventional pigments, with stable performance under salt spray testing.

Water-Based Epoxy System

Under the same conditions, 608H shows improved corrosion resistance, with 240h salt spray performance outperforming conventional pigments at 140h.

Water Resistance & Yellowing Test

608H demonstrates better resistance to water-induced yellowing and maintains a more stable coating appearance over time.
